Hi, can you explain how these Loan Modification companies get your personal information? The servicer of our loan has stated that they do not ‘sell” clients personal information. Also there is no record (county) of default or foreclosure. We had a rough patch over the last year, a few late payments, but are current with on the loan. If the servicer did not “sell” information how are total strangers accessing this information.

They are probably purchasing a list of real estate transactions in an area, based on demographics, which would target likely candidates for delinquencies. That kind of data mining is easy since real estate transactions are public record.
