I was also contracted with Square One since October of 2009 and paid 10,449.60 in fees to them. I luckily never set up an account for my pay offs with them, so I saved and paid my own mointhly payment plans to my creditors.  Square One helped me with only four of my nine accounts, so I sent them a letter stating that they owed me $7433.60.  This was only last week, so I have not heard back, probably never will.  I was also sued at least three times.  I could not get ahold of anybody or left numerous messages for my account manager, Mildred, many times and was forced to contact and negotiate my own deals also.  I settled two of my own accounts and have three pending.  I would gladly sign up for a class action law suit and agree that my experience was not very successful in the long run.

I paid Square One Settlement Company $10,446.53 andall I got was 2 settlement letters and $2300.00 in a account set up to pay off the settlements from the 2 companies. They took all the rest and put it in there pockets. I think the goverment should go after them and return at least one half off what we paid in.

Hi.  My name’s Robert and like some of you I have, or should I say had, Square One as my debt settlement company.  One day last week I called to check on them after I RECEIVED INFO ABOUT ONE OF MY CREDITOR AND FOUND OUT THEY WERE BELLY UP!!!  The only settlement money they had used was 600+/- dollars so where is the rest of my money.  I sent them almost four thousand dollars.  They’re phones don’t answer and I think they should be prosecuted for fraud and anything else the government can get them for.

I agree with both of previous posters. Square One took $597 for their monthly payment
from us for several months, and did nothing to help us. They were content to let all
credit accounts go to court, and that is what we were TRYING to avoid! “Get your
own lawyer to help you with that!” is what they told us. Well, if I could afford a lawyer,
I could probably afford to pay off all my accounts, too. I got out of Square One losing
over $4000, and I’m looking to file as many complaints with various agencies as I can
about them. Do NOT go to Square One!!!! Try to find a legit credit counselling service
if you need one. I am trying to work with one, now, called Clearpoint Credit Counselling
Solutions. I’m hoping they will be helpful, as they were recommended to me by
Jewish Family Services (social agency) in Los Angeles, and our local ABC Eyewitness News
also did a story about Clearpoint recently, saying they have been helpful to consumers.

This is a total SCAM! I had two credit cards in which I paid them to negotiate the amounts owed for me. I ended up doing all the work myself on one and settled it just fine. The second card the company sued me immediately! I paid Square One over $3,000 for services. They did nothing for me. They can do nothing for you.

My wife & I signed up with Sq One last Sept. . This is June 17 2010 payed them $4700.00 and they have not did one thing to help us. We are being sued by one company and more in the waiting. If you like giving your money away I will help you out just as much as they will. WHAT A RIP OFF!!
