    Damon,

I would like to discuss this matter with you over the phone, not through this website. Please let me know how to contact you. Since you are in California, I am 3 hours ahead of you, because I am located in the East Coast.

    Regards,

    Hello JD,

Based on the limited research that I have done, it seems that they don’t respond to many complaints. Out of the 15 on the BBB 13 of them were never answered by the company. They have only been in business since 2008 and are likely just a marketing organization. Their address is listed as 3 Whatney Suite 200, Irvine Ca 92618. I also found several other businesses that use the same address. So I am not sure if it is a physical office or just a mail center.

However, I don’t live very far from there and could stop in for a chat on your behalf, if you would like me to.
I also found that they are accredited members of TASC under the name Debt Resolution Center. Normally I don’t have any high hopes of TASC ever actually stepping in to police their members, but there are rumors that they are trying to purge the bad apples from their ranks. I won’t hold my breath, but I can give TASC the opportunity to put its money where their mouths are and see if they can get these guys to do the right thing.

If you would like to schedule a consultation with me, you can give me the background on your experience with this company and figure out what you need to do moving forward. Then I can use that information to see if I could persuade the company to do the right thing. I can’t make any promises though. If these guys, like many others, are about to shut their doors and go out of business, they might not have any incentive to refund clients. We can certainly try though because that is a lot of money they took from you and just a partial refund, I am sure would certainly help you right now.

    Damon,
I cancelled last month, Oct., 2010. I am so helpless right now, and I don’t know what to do. I need some of that money for lawyer’s fee. Since I am no longer in their program, it is so difficult to contact them by phone. My Client ID in their system is no longer active. I also wrote a complaint letter to California Dept. of Consumer affairs, but I haven’t received any response yet.
    Thank you for your concerns.

    Hello JD,
How long ago did you cancel? I would press for a larger refund, that is theft.

  • JDMisterDJ

I have been with Freedom Debt Center’s program since Feb., 2010. They also took $9,520.60 from me. Due to early cancellation, I was refunded only $1,235.30. I was told that the rest of the money was for administrative charge. I got out of the program, because Freedom Debt Center was not able to help me when one of my creditors filed a lawsuit against me.

I am now in the process of filing Chapter 13 Bankruptcy.

    Hello Aaron,

I am sorry to hear about your situation. Unfortunately it is something that is going to become very common as these guys start jumping out of the industry. The only way most of these guys can make money is to do exactly what they did to you. It might not be too late, I would certainly raise hell with them and threaten to contact the BBB and the attorney general in your state and in theirs. If they are planning on going out of business, then these threats won’t mean much to them. However you might at least get some of the money back to try and deal with this judgment.

The more important question is to figure out how to clean up this mess that they created. Isn’t it amazing. These guys are charging people thousands of dollars to just make your situation worse. It is such a scam it makes me sick.

Tell me a little more about your current situation and we can see if there is a way to clean up the mess

Freedom Debt Center took $8149 from me and did nothing. Money I needed. When I called them I spent a lot of time trying to get through. When they were reached I was put on indefinite hold and given the run around. When I finally got a supervisor he would talk over me and down to me instead of listening to my problem, making me feel less. When it was time to appear in court they said they would help me, but it did not. I went to court and ended up with a huge judgment against me. Now I am in even more debt. Freedom Debt Center/Global Dept Management sole purpose is to keep you on the hook, collecting as much money as possible by making false promises. They prey on people who just want to get out of debt. Stay clear this is truly a scam…
