My Boyfriend Just Signed Up With ClearOne Advantage and I’m Worried. – Elle

“Dear Steve,

I have a question, and it’s not actually for me.. My boyfriend signed up with Clear One advantage for a debt settlement for the money he owed to several credit card company which totally amounted to almost $9000.00. He has been paying for almost a year (i think $200 and some) now to ClearOne advantage and I think he has to pay them for 5 years..I am just worried for him coz i have been reading about debt settlements and there were some people who were scammed by these kind of companies.

Would it be better to stop paying to ClearOne and he can just make the payments directly to those credit card companies??

The Answer

Dear Elle,

Are his payments being credited to his accounts with the creditors or is ClearOne simply savings the money in hopes of settling his debts at some point in the future?

Has your boyfriend been sued over any of these debts yet?

Please update me on your progress by posting updates here in the comments section of your question. I’m very interested in how this works out for you.

Big Hug!
