An Interesting Offer I Didn’t Expect

Of all the people in the world, the whole world, I never expected to receive an offer from a debt settlement company to become their brand manager and spokesperson. It even came with a “name your price” offer.

But there is no way I can continue my work in writing about the debt industry at this time and be a representative of a particular debt settlement company.

For me, at this point in my life, my writing and work on behalf of consumers comes first.

I’m still in shock.

Of course I said ‘no.’

    For the record, the PR department at Morgan Drexen sent me an email and said they “would appreciate it if these childish comments were removed. I say you must have had some very classy friends when you lived in the UK.”

    So maybe my bet that Jane was a shill for Morgan Drexen was incorrect? Thank goodness I don’t bet. But Morgan Drexen says they have not be able to figure out who Jane is either. A bonafide conundrum.

    I just got an interesting email from Morgan Drexen saying Jane is making claims she is a client of theirs but they have no record of this person and that Jane is posting or sending slanderous emails that Morgan Drexen says they have passed to their legal department for action against her.

    This should be interesting.

    Steve, my opinion if the poster cannot provide facts on their claims and just on here to be a wanker than they are being disruptive and blocking their comments would be valid. If they are going to an opinion atleast clarify on why they would feel the way they feel whether good or bad and not just blantly rambling on none sense. I vote block comments that is disruptive and is irrelevant to original post.

    Joe and everyone, I have a question and would really appreciate your feedback.

    This whole Janetuston thing brings up a topic that I need some help with. At what point does a commenter become so disruptive that they should be blocked?

    I’ve always had a policy of allowing people to post opinions with a very wide latitude but this particular poster has added nothing to the conversation and only attacked, attacked, attacked. I think all the points and accusations raised have been answered.

    So do I let commenters like this run wild or at some point do I cut them off. What do you think?

May I ask doing what there? Because from my understanding BofA has a great inhouse counseling that they are willing to do for their clients/employees that is in financial hardship. Since you like to post opinions and attacks quote “Thats because he has a clever google guy that steals other people’s press releases and posts them on his site he is not a real reporter…. get a real job your no more an expert on debt than lindsey lohan is on being sober ” so my own opinion, leave your job cause if you really work for BofA you are embarrassing them and I hope you are not writing this post at work cuz i am sure BofA has a strict policy for utilizing their internet resource for non work related function. Either you provide facts as to how you were ripped off so other readers see light of both side or beat it Jane and don’t come on here again making false accusation. Jane Drexen lol….

    I am surprised you had your son Google wanker, don’t you know how to use Google? I used the term since your email address is from the UK specifically so you’d understand it as silly or a general insult. During my years living in the UK the term was never used in the historical sense, as a masturbator, like tosser. In modern years a waker or a tosser is used for a silly person or jerk.

    “The term wanker originated from British slang in the 1940s. Wanker literally means “one who wanks (masturbates)”. In modern usage it is usually a general insult. It conveys contempt, not commentary on sexual habits. Wanker has similar meanings and overtones to American pejoratives like jerk, and jerk-off.” – Source

    Please feel free to let Morgan Drexen know I think their PR department acted silly and like a jerk. But I don’t know why you would, I already wrote all that in the article I linked to previously and I know they have already read that post.

    Regarding the releases, I already addressed that.

    Jane, what is it you want to add to the conversation? All of your comments have been attacks against me or Damon Day, you are not adding anything positive to the articles or helping others on the site with positive advice, and you seem generally displeased with me. If that’s the case, please don’t read the site.

In recent comments you’ve mentioned that I changed the title of a post and you’ve railed about the publishing of press releases yet there is only one entity that has had an issue with both things and has interaction with me about both events and that my dear is Morgan Drexen.

    I’m willing to bet you’re a shill for Morgan Drexen, unhappy and complaining about stuff just to stir the pot for no good reason than to attempt to discredit me, for what? Is there anything that I’ve said about Morgan Drexen that is not true or factual?

    Could you just be bitter because Morgan Drexen has a wanker of a PR department, see this, or the ONLY company to have an issue with me publishing their press releases or even the only company involved in the William-Bob post?

    What I can’t understand is if Morgan Drexen wants to be recognized as a leader, what’s with the childish games? You can be better than that.

    Please explain what information you are using to claim I am a scam? You seem to be implying that you were a client of mine and paid more in fees than you had in debt. You might want to actually read my website. If you were an actual client of mine, you would know that would not be possible, unless you scheduled a consultation with me and only had about $100 dollars in debt that you asked me to help you out with. I am not a debt settlement company, so you might want to look into what I do so your fake post could at least be plausible.

    Also, if you are going to try to slam me, please at least take the time to spell my name correctly.

    That makes two attacks against me from debt settlement sales people today. I am really racking them up. Maybe I will start a new section on my blog and link to all the attacks. I can really show consumers how scared rip off debt settlement sales people are of them talking to me. I must say, that is one of the best endorsements of the value of my service that I can think of.

If you have some ties to the debt industry, than you better thank this man Steve, because if he isn’t posting facts, you will definitely be ignorant enough to continue to break the law that has been pass. If you love what you do and truely believe you are out to help consumers than embrace the new ruling and find a way to adapt and move forward legitimately. If I own a debt company, the last thing I want is to piss off the media.     I have to admit I’m really happy knowing I’m working hard each day to make a positive difference. The interesting thing about the haters is they tend to go out of business.

    Over time some critics have come to see that what I have to say is truthful, it just might not be popular. I did get great satisfaction out of this post from a debt settlement company.

    And here is something else wonderful, the first contribution I received from my legal defense fund was from a debt settlement company to help me to keep speaking up about things that need to be cleaned up.

    If I can ever help in anyway, let me know.

I agree that work for the consumers should come first. I just started work at a Non-Profit credit counseling agency and I can actually say that I am proud to be a part of this company based on how we are taught to respect our customers and everything we do is to help them. It is in every part of our company basically ingrained in us that we each have a role in helping them become debt free. I have read some of your comments and I think you are doing a great service to offer free information and advice to help everyone better themselves. The people who criticize are the ones who are scared about people finding out the truth about their companies because they are worried about losing some of their profits or if we are lucky enough… maybe even their jobs!!
