How Do We Stop Withdrawals By the FBL Associates Scam Artists? – Tina

“Dear Steve,

My husband and I signed up with FBL Associates. They’ve taken one payment from our account. We are getting collection letters from all our debts, and they (FBL) aren’t available – the voice mailboxes are full – we don’t know – but think we’ve made a huge mistake signing up with these guys and now they have our checking account information – big mistake! None of our creditors have been contacted.

How do I stop the withdrawals from our checking account for these scam artists?

The Answer

Dear Tina,

I’m afraid it looks like it’s bad news for FBL Associates. Based on your observations and those of another recent reader, here, it looks like FBL Associates has taken a powder and for all intents and purposes, is out of business.

I know it is a big pain in the butt but the quickest and safest route would be to go to your bank and ask them to change your bank account number. Once they do this then no more drafts can come out from the account by anyone that had the old account number.

It looks like you are luckier than the majority of other people that have made many more payments and are now in the same boat.

If you look here you’ll find the telephone number for the president of FBL Associates and if you want to get a refund then you may want to follow this process.

Please update me on your progress by posting updates here in the comments section of your question. I’m very interested in how this works out for you.

Big Hug!

    Terry,

I did get the facts and called that number in my research previously and the people that answered said they could not help with FBL Associates calls and referred me to another number that was never answered. See this story for details on what they told me when I called.
