Collection Agency Trying to Collect on Lease from 4 Years Ago. – Dean

I have a collection agency trying to collect on a lease from 4 yrs ago. They are saying they are going to garnish (for double) my wages if I don’t pay the settled amount. I was not the only one on the lease. They have also contacted the other person I lived with who is refusing to pay there half. What can I do to clear my name if I pay half of what they are asking? And can they just garnish my wages?
