What Can I Do to Avoid Getting Sued by Chase Bank Over My Debt? – lillian

“Dear Steve,

I owe 1300.00 dollars to Chase and they called the other day and I offered to pay them 50 dollars a month but they said no and that it would be turned over to their attorneys. I have paid on time up until Sept. 2010 I was sick for months and then lost my job. I know I owe them money but they will not take what I can afford right now so what should I do?

What can I do to keep from getting sued or will they sue me at all?

lillian”

The Answer:

Dear lillian,

I think we are going to need some additional income first. Was it Chase that called or a debt collection company that is collecting for Chase Bank?

Do you have much in the way of assets?

Are you currently employed?

Do you have any income coming in at all right now?

I can also be reached at [email protected] :) non-profit consumer advocate here to help, if you are looking for help definitely look in to BK as an option. You don’t want to worry about things such as a lien against the property you mentioned above. Seek advise of a BK in your area as well, they may be able to steer you in the right direction, as I can also do the same. Hope everything turns out well for you regardless of your decisions. :)

If it was Chase Bank calling directly then I wouldn’t worry about sued. There is news going around that Chase has taken a hiatus from law suits because of not being able to prove validation. Call me and I can help you! 720-524-3689

I am drawing unemployment right now but that is all. I don’t have any assets unless you conceder my car and house but that is it. I think she said she was from Chase collections when she called but can’t be for sure. I am still unemployed and barely getting by. But like I said I offered them 50 dollars a month and she said no.
