I’m hoping you are for real…. I have being in debt forever it seems, so I decided NO MORE OF THIS! I have being taking care of all my bussines as best as possible, since my divorce 4 years ago all hell broke loose, I have been lucky in the sense that I have a job, so since then I have paid off all my credit cards except for 3, two of them I have tried in vain to settle with so call debt agencies that don’t seem to want to respond to my letters inquiring
them to send me proof of legit owed accounts, and the last one is American Express which I owe the a little less than $10.000, the balance used to be close to 15.000 Anyway everytime they send me a bill, they tell me to pay double the minimun, otherwise it will take me about 25 some years to finish settling the debt, I have not used the card, nor intent to in years, I have asked them to reduce my interest rate, they won’t .
My question to you is can anybody make them reduce my interest rate? I do want to be free of this, I ‘m 60 years old and have Prostate Cancer and seriously I don’t have 25 years left to pay this off.
The people I mentioned , Eductional Services, say they can help me, the question is , are they for real? or are they trying to scam me?
I would appreciate your help.
I’m not quite sure exactly who the Educational Services people are that you mentioned but it is possible to get your interest rates reduced.
You sound like you can afford the minimum monthly payment without a problem and just want a break in the interest rate. In that case I’d suggest you contact this credit counseling company and talk to them about how much they can reduce your interests rate by. You can click here for credit counseling information.
In a debt management program that is administered by a credit counseling program, some creditors will lower interest rates and I think that’s what you are looking for.
After talking with the credit counselors about your specific creditors, let me know if you think that solves your issue. Just come on back and post an update in the comments below. If it doesn’t, then we can explore some other options. Are Educational Services Legit to Get Out of Debt? - Carlo by Steve Rhode
