Debt Resolution Group & Next Generation Debt Settlement – Consumer Complaint 9-18-2011

Date This Problem Happened: December 29, 2011

State You Live in: California

Age Range: 21-35

Total Amount of Fee Paid: $1,900

Company Name: Debt Resolution Group

Company Address:

Website of Company:

debt-resolutions.com

Consumer Statement:

I received a phone call in December about how this company can assist me with getting rid of my debt because they can pay it off up front to where it won’t severely affect my credit.

I gave them budgeted information via phone and upon agreement, I was sent a contract with an amount that would be used toward the program and was instructed not to pay or respond to any of my creditors. I was enrolled in the program for 8 months.

I would get helpful emails regarding debt and how to manage it, friendly information on what to do if I were contacted about the program by creditors. I was given login information and the ability to track my account. This gave me the extra assurance I needed to trust this company.

It wasn’t until August that I started to get concerned when I wasn’t receiving replies for inquiries I sent and the creditors were now threatening for legal action. Fortunately, I am working with them on getting everything settle d or taken care of. Some were very understanding of the situation as they may have encountered it before and others were really harsh and just wanted to make me cry.

I really just wanted to do what I thought would be best for me so that I can be debt free by the new year.

I am now following Steve’s guide on how to get a refund since I am getting nowhere via phone. Hopefully it will work out considering some aren’t having the best of luck.

Fortunately I was able to stop the payments and get this done before it became a much larger loss. I hope everyone else does the same and gets a rewarding outcome.

I think its horrible that companies such as these thrive off the vulnerability of one’s situation and may not really get anything out of it aside from a paycheck with a small bonus for signing someone up.

The company that contacted me is Debt Resolution Group, the company that has my information now is Next Generation Debt Settlement and they partnered with Noteworld Servicing to debit my account.

Please see this scam report about Debt Resolution Group that included pictures of the office and a comment from the company.

    Steve,

You say to wite a letter to the company, and let them know you are terminating business with them and want a refund, but I don’t have any of that information for Next Gerneration.
I don’t know who to write to, or where to send it.

Do you know any contact information?

Who do I write a letter to? Is it Eli Smart, and what address do I sent it to?

If according to Mr. Anaya they are moving around, will I get the letter returned, or does it forwarded to their ” current ” address?

Thanks Steve for your help and I am really glad that you have such a great turn around time for postings like these. Mario did contact me yesterday via phone and gave me the same information in his post. I am not sure if the blog is what prompted him to call after previous attempts but I am only hopeful that I can get my money back. Although it may not be as huge as a loss as other clients, its still an investment I made and would like to just get things resolved. I am still following the procedure you provided in your related article but would rather not have things escalate too far.

If Debt Resolutions is able to acknowledge their mistake, they should be proactive about contacting their referrals and reporting it to Noteworld in working on a resolution. This has been going on for a month so far since I requested the cancellation and just now got contact.

        KC,

Please keep me posted here in the comments. If Debt Resolution Group steps up and takes care of the issue and sends you a full refund I want to praise them for that. I’ll gladly give out pats on the back for doing the right thing.
