Fort Wayne, Indiana BBB Warns Of Secret Shopper Scam

Last week the Fort Wayne, Indiana BBB issued a warning of a scam affecting Engle Road’s Hilton Downtown and National Tube Form.

Across the country people are receiving letters telling them they’ve been chosen as a Secret Shopper to complete a survey. A check of between $1,900 to $7,000 from National Tube Form is enclosed in the letter and “shoppers” are asked to keep part of the money, spend some shopping at JC Penny and other stores and then send at least $1,500 back to them via Western Union. The return address on the letter is the Hilton Downtown’s. So far, 50 of these letters have been returned to the Hilton and National Tube Form is rejecting all of the checks as fraudulent.

The original press release can be found here.
