“Here’s the new website: http://nationwidedebtdirect.com/ I saw from this job ad I ran across (below). This used to be Payment Relief Center that got leads by sending out misleading mailers implying some kind of govt. sponsored program. It’s the same location and people, they just changed the website like countless other scam DS firms have done in order to start with fresh BBB so won’t show an F. I wonder if they are still charging upfront fees, hmmm?”

Anyone doing business with Nationwide Debt Direct needs to cancel immediately In order to retain a full refund you must threaten to complain to the BBB (Actually, go ahead and file a complaint with the BBB). Next, threaten to complain to the Attorney General of the state you live in and Texas. After that just point them out on the fact that if you have 1 debt, 20k and you pay $250 x 48 months (You will have gained interest and late penalties by the time you settle after 4 years, you’re looking at about 5k extra now in debt). Lets take a look, they promised to get you out of debt at 40% of the balance with an 18% fee = 58% in the beginning yet by the time you settle at 40% its more like 60% of the original debt – So, now you have paid 70% of your debt and have 4 years of delinquency on your credit report. These companies are a scam. IF you want to settle, just let the debt go delinquent for 3+ months, call the creditor…say you have x amount.. can we call it even? Ensure they send it in writing, then set up the payment. DONE.

How the fuck to stop them mailing me?  I have called and called and have been promised “cessation after six weeks” but that’s for the last six MONTHS

I am currently dealing with Nationwide Debt Direct and am hoping what is coming out of my account will eventually start paying down my debt. The terms are clear and fees are up front. Yes your credit will be destroyed during this process but the fact that my payments were late and I was incurring late fees were ultimately destroying my credit, and yes I did try to work with the creditors myself and not all are willing to work with you and at what cost. Most creditors will help you out of a jam if you want to pay upfront payments that most of us in this mess can not afford.I get a monthly statement from the holding company that is Es-crowing the monthly money. Plus, calls from the company asking if i have any questions. The documents were notarized and at this point seem to be on the up and up. I’ll post in the later months to let consumers know How things are going. At this point I am trying to be optimistic and hope that the debt will be cleared up in three years instead of the inevitable ten to fifteen. If there is a company that can actually help with that then they are a god sent for most consumers who found themselves in this awful position.

      Hi Kim,

I’m getting ready to sign up with NDD and was wondering if you are still happy with the company…????? Thanks so much for the feed back.

This is amazing that in 2012 after the FTC has did what it could to help consumers see the truth, people still fall for these scams. You do not need a company to settle your debts!! You can do it on your own. These companies have made millions upon millions of dollars and the majority of people who go this route end up filing bankruptcy which is actually a safer route to take. Wake up America!

Nation Wide Direct is nothing but a consumer rip-off. They will say they never received your termination agreement within the time frame of three days and then they will email you another one which will take you about four weeks to get because of all the delays. Of course, they then charge you banking fees, and processing fees which they deduct from your checking account because of a blank check you gave them. Also, they do not tell you that your creditors may go after you after a few missed payments and ruin your credit rating. To boot, they really do not explain to you that the part of the payments you MAY be granted are taxable. The IRS sends you a bill. So if you want creditors breathing down your neck, your credit score ruined, and ending up with nothing but misery, then by all means sign up for NWD, they will welcome you with open arms.

I am a client of Nationwide Debt Direct. They are not a scam, they are a legitimate company. I visited their offices, and met with the owner, and members of customer service and sales team. I am also a member of law enforcement, and this company states multiple times in their disclosure statements verbally over the phone, during the face to face presentation, and the customer service orientation, all of the negative possibilities and consequences. Please do not spread lies like this, they have helped my family and many more.

    Hey Steve,

Guess what douche bag, shady idiot is the manager at Nationwide debt direct??  It is Robert McClain from ABC debt settlement.  You ought to know that anything that Robert Mcclain is involved with is shady business.  Do you remember Robert Mcclain got ABC sued for calling a girl a ‘slut’ and a ‘whore’.  If not heres the link for his X rated allegations…  http://getoutofdebt.org/21786/abc-debt-relief-kevin-devoto-and-lloyd-regner-sued-again-this-time-with-x-rated-allegations If Robert Mcclain is heading up an organization then you can bet it is a scam.  Robert Mcclain is the most unethical, egotistical, scum of the earth on this planet.  Buyers beware!!!!!

    • Jennifer Smith Exposed

actually that is not true. Jennifer Smith is a made up name. Robert McLain is a Christian man that has contributed to many. He has helped many people in and outside of his profession. He most recently has worked to help children in the Dominican Republic. He did a outreach program to help give over 600 children a better CHRISTMAS. You shouldnt be hiding behind a fake name because you were fired from the debt relief company. By making these false allegations you are trying to keep good American people from getting the help they need to fight your own personal war. You couldnt be a client because why would a client care and know so much about these internal things. Good try Scammer , You should grow up. That is probably why you were terminated. These companies can only employee honest people when handling peoples financial futures. You must not have fit the bill. Your character is shown in this personal attack.

I believe the tipster was stating they were related to Payment Relief Center.
