Consumer Statement:

Went with Bay View Law Group to help us get out of debt. Yah right! All they did was put us in a bigger hole! After 4 mo’s called with a couple of questions and found out that they don’t negotiate with creditors until the accounts are charged off to third party. I guess that’s why they told us to stop paying our creditors and talking with them cause everything was gonna be taken care of.

Consumer Action Taken:

So I did some investigating ( after the fact of getting screwed) and found out some not so favorable things about Bay View. I decided to take everything into my own hands and closed my savings account and the service, sent them there letter they requested along with the demand for a refund and why I expected a refund. No reply by date I chose.

Called them and they said that funds are non-refundable and there was a 90 day account review to see why we cancelled. I proceeded to tell her about some info I had found on possible refunds from there company. ( I will expidite this right away and some will contact you) is what I was told 3 times. Guess what 90 days is up, complaints are filed and another phone call is in order, cause now I’m even more pissed than before for getting taken advantage of in a not so desireable situation. Just want my fee’s back!

Hi.  I’ve been going through the same stuff with Bay View.  Signed up with them in May to get the debt I have from several mdeical issues under control.  Was told they would work with my creditors and get settlements and pay off accounts as I built up cash in my “aacount” after they took their 10% fees. Set them all documents from creditors as they came in and stopped making payments as they suggested.  Long story short, they never responded to one of my creditors at all even after they went to the local courts.  I called  and sent the creditors letters, etc over and over again but they said they had to work with Bay View since I had signed up with them and couldn’t talk with me.  Bay View totally ignored the court requests and then the hearings even though they told me they would handle it and not too worry.  Creditor has recently ended up garnishing my wages at a rate that I cannot afford.  Now I am trying to get Bay View to refund my payments, checking account has negative $$ and Bay View says they are working on reimbursing me, but they are still taking money from my account which they are not supposed to be doing.  I went from struggling to get bills payed to being in serious trouble and not sure what to do.  Really was trying to avoid doing the bankruptcy thing and pay my bills.  Not to mention I have had another round of surgery and may now have cancer.  What else can go wrong?  I really just want this over with.  Only way I have to get any cash is to quit my job and cash in my retirement fund.  With my illnesses thats not really an option.  Bay View did settle two accounts for me so I’m not sure which way to go.  Sorry I really don’t have anyone to talk to about this and needed to vent about Bay View.  Really tired of calling and getting we will check with corporate and call you right back never to get a return call.  At this point I hope I do have cancer and it takes me quickly so no one will get any money and I can be done with this.  I have no money for gas to get to work or for food anymore.  Wonder what will happen when Bay View can get no more cash from me.
