I am being contacted by National Litigators. Cant find no info on them. They contacted my son, since I will not answer phone that has blocked number and told him I am being summons for fraud on a online payday loan I defaulted on and said since he is a reference on my application he will be summons to court too. I called them and they said they has someone coming to my home to serve me imediately unless I paid $1025. paid some so they say they stopped procedures for 2 days.
Consumer Action Taken:
They accepted all I paid $200 but said I needed to pay the $825 in 2 days and for now could stop the charges and summons. I did not pay the rest as I do not have it. I asked them to send me a debt validation and they will not. they say they are not debt collectors and that my loan is with Think Cash who was the lender of the money to the online place I got the loan. They will not tell me who the online company is. They say I am going to be charged with check fraud. they got mad when I told them that I called the DA’s office and they said that Texas does not consider payday loan post dated checks as check fraud and wil not prosecute. it has to be a civil suit but they say that is not true.
This sounds suspiciously like the fake debt collector calls people have been getting for alleged payday loans. See Frightening Calls From Fake Debt Collectors Threaten People With Jail for Payday Loans. It’s a Scam.
