I worked with DRG for 4 months (July – October 2011). During that time, they made no attempts to contact my creditors. Further, as none of my creditors work with for-profit entities, there was no way DRG could have settled my debt even if they had tried to do so. I was deliberately misled regarding this during the intake process as I was assured multiple times that DRG had worked with my creditors in the past.
Consumer Action Taken:
I terminated my relationship with DRG in mid-October and was told a refund would be forthcoming. After several attempts to contact anyone at DRG who could give me information about the details, I was contacted by Rob Crenshaw who promised to follow up on my case and give me details within 2 days. He gave me an email address that was apparently a black hole and a phone number that was totally bogus. About 2 weeks later, I received an email indicating no refund would be forthcoming.
I just wrote a letter (following the steps outlined on this blog) and will be sending it to DRG tomorrow morning.
I sent a letter to Debt Restructure Solution / Debt Restructure Group at the address given and asked them to respond to this consumer complaint.
Letter was returned.
If you feel you’ve been financially hurt by a debt relief company and deserve a refund, read these step-by-step instructions on how to proceed to attempt to get your money back.
If you do get your money back, come back and leave a comment about it. I’d love to praise companies that step-up and do the right thing for people.
