Im being scammed by a friend! – Gash

I believe a friend of mine has become my identity theft, but i cannot prove it.

That is why i want to drive down to atlanta GA. and get a copy of my credit report, and is there somewhere i can take my computer and find out if its been tampered with and how i can secure it from future identity thefts.

    Hi Gash,

You do not need to drive to Atlanta to get your credit report. You are entitled to access one free report from the reporting agencies every 12 months. Experian, TransUnion & Equifax reports are available to you on line at http://www.annualcreditreport.com

Here is a link to the Federal Trade Commission site where you can read up on your free credit report access: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/freereports/index.shtml

There are many computer service providers and different software available that can assist you in protecting the information you store. You should be able to find out if there is remote computer access or key stroke type spying installed on your device at a generic computer service center offered by places like staples. They should be able to remove them as well.

Perhaps the hardest thing you have in front of you is saying goodbye to a friend you do not trust.
