Legal Helpers (Now Macey Bankruptcy Law) Consumer Complaint 1 17 2012

Consumer Statement:

i paid $1,600 to legal helpers in miami florida on 7/28/2008 and i have proof of my paying on such acct 1017168 to file chapter 7. however, i was able to resolve my problem, thereby, was not forced to submit a file for chapter 7.

The unfortunate matter is that i have not been able to receive any of my money paid into a service with legal helpers, that was not serviced or filing of chp.7.

when i spoke to Macy’s law firm, no one knows who, what when or why, otherwise, their a__ from a hole in the ground.(sorry, but they have gotten me extremely upset.)(the attached was generated originally from legal helpers in sept.2008 informing me that i had an outstanding balance of 1500.00. i phoned them and also emailed a copy of my reciept to which i paid acct in full in 7/2008. i continued to receive letters telling me my acct needed to be paid. no record or documentation ever seemed to exist.)

Consumer Action Taken:

i have phoned, mailed and emailed previous numbers and emails from former legal helpers, the attorney by the name of Adel estopinan, but received no response. as well contacted macy’s law firm, again, CLUELESS and unworthy trusting individuals when colling on the phone. also, macy’s sent me a letter informing me that i was also responsible for an increase fee in reference to my filing chapter seven?? upon calling, i spoke to a representative regarding this matter, however, i received no solution or refund of my cash. in reference to the date scammed, i began and paid my amount of $1,600(100 in cash and 1,500 via check.) but my case had not closed ,yet i think it closed alright, into someone else’s bankacct, coz, macy’s law shows no record, yet i received this letter of paying a fee increase due to chp.7 filing cost..

This client paid for a Chapter 7 case, but was able to resolve his debts without filing for bankruptcy.  Our firm has a refund policy for clients who change their minds. Because of a systems glitch, the client had several record numbers, and his refund was delayed through no fault of his own. He has since received a refund.   I have reached out to the client, personally, to make sure he is satified with the resolution.  At Macey Bankruptcy Law, South Florida, we pride ourselves on exceptional customer service, and take even minor complaints very seriously. Why would somebody who works there tell them to go to the bar? This is some garbage from 3 years ago and there are no facts here except a fake receipt. People will complain about anything they blame a company or lawyer for losing their home. No lost it because you had no business buying it. You stopped making payments? Where did the money go? If you saved it there would not be an issue. The whole debt settlement or credit counseling is garbage too. Front end or not there is no real skill that goes into any of it and not 15 percent worth. Plus all these guys pounded everybody for upfront fees all of them. Front end or backend fees all in this industry are the same. None of them are different they just attack in a different method. That is why new bills continue to come out to eliminate the industry. So the profanity laced tirade was by a guy who is not making it in the business but is upset at people who are. It is also not illegal for an attorney to take money upfront but who cares it is all a bad deal. Read online take 30 minutes on google and you can do it. Most of these people in this industry are the mortgage brokers who pitched you loans or the guys who loaded up on front end fees. But they are all the same and you are foolish if you think otherwise

I just received my “refund” from this company (now Macey BK). I canceled because i was never able to talk to my attorney, and never received replies to my email. HOWEVER, they charged me 976.00 for misc things like calling there 800 number or setting up my “file” at the attorney’s office. This was not disclosed to me, and now what they have done is the same thing my creditors did that lead to me being in the situation. I paid them 1500.00 and received NOTHING for it, and they kept 976.00 of that 1500.00 claiming some bogus charges.
