Debt Relief Companies Registered in Colorado Shows Little Registration Activity

A reader and tipster (send in your tips here) sent in a current list of debt management companies that are registered to offer debt management services.

What surprised me in looking over the list was how few registrations there actually were, in the past 16 months, since January 1, 2011.

The list of providers says only the following companies have registered since then.

  • CHRISTIAN CREDIT COUNSELORS INC
  • CONSOLIDATED CREDIT SOLUTIONS INC
  • CONSUMER CREDIT AND BUDGET COUNSELING INC DBA NATIONAL FOUNDATION FOR DEBT MANAGEMENT DBA WARRIOR SUPPORT SERVICES
  • CREDIT AND DEBT ASSISTANCE CENTER OF AMERICA INC
  • NATIONAL BUDGET PLANNERS OF SOUTH FLORIDA INC
  • PREFERRED FINANCIAL SERVICES CORPORATION DBA PREFERRED FINANCIAL SERVICES DBA PFS DBA PFS1

The full list of registered and approved Colorado debt management companies as of April 20, 2012 can be found here.

I’d be more interested in learning how many applicants have applied in the same period – and how many were denied or had to withdraw due to Colorado’s somewhat onerous application requirements.
