We were contacted by the Citizens Financial Group-Phoenix, AZ in November of 2011 promising that they could reduce our interest rate in half through a home loan modification. They also guaranteed our money back if we could not get a reduced interest rate. We then gave Citizens Financial Group $2500.00 to proceed. Our documentation specialist was Lucy Gutierrez. We were asked to send lots of information to assist with this loan solution. We had frequent contact til one day in April 2012. When we tried to contact via phone, we quickly learned the phone had been disconnected. We tried via internet which we could not locate web address. We then pursued the BBB. We soon discovered that Citizens Financial Group was no longer in good standings-WARNING !!! THIS COMPANY IS NO LONGER IN GOOD STANDING WITH THE NATIONWIDE BUSINESS BUREAU. WE NO LONGER ENDORSE THIS COMPANY DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF NEGATIVE REVIEWS THAT HAVE GONE UNRESOLVED AND UNADDRES SED. THE NATIONWIDE BUSINESS BUREAU HAS ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT THE BUSINESS BUT HAS RECEIVED NO RESPONSE. With this information we came to the conclusion that we had been scammed and lost out on $2500.00 OUCH!!!
Consumer Action Taken:
We tried to call but to no avail since the phone had been disconnected. We also tried to call the Nationwide Business Bureau but they too did not return our calls. So we just gave up.
