I was contacted 9/12/12 from 1st United Consultant about lowering my mortgage payment. There was more conversation during that time I believe his name was Steve said let me check and see if we handle yor mortgage company, and then put me on hold. He came back and good news we do and I can get your paymentdown to $622.11 a month how does that sound. I said great….my mistake. Then Lee Arthur got on the phone and did his talk about paying my mortgage payment I told he would have to do it right away because it was due now. Meracord musthave taken the money out of my account before was even off the phone. When I got my mortgage statement in the mail andit said my Sept. payment has not been made yet I know I was in trouble. I could not get ahold of anyone at 1st United I mean no one not even a recording. Finally contacted Meracord told them to cancel my account and to refund my money back to me. Never happened they sent the money to 1st United the y said for fees I agreed to pay. I never agreed to pay $622.11 in fees to anyone except my mortgage co. and they never got any of that money. I am still behind in my payments and could lose my home now because of it. Lee Arthur 1st United are thiefs and liars.
Consumer Action Taken:
I tried to call, fax, email every way I have to contact them I used but there is nothing no response back at all from Lee Arthur and 1st. United. I contacted Meracord and at least they contacted me back and answered the phone when I called. They werew no help at all. It was lkie yeah, we closed your account but your not getting any money back becausew we sent it to 1st United for fees you agreed to pay,BS when and where did I agree to pay $622.11 in fees to anyone, like I have that kind of money to just throw away. I could not believe waht she was saying. Then the women tells me they no longer do business with 1st United because they do not conduct business in a way the Meracord likes so are no longer associated with 1st. United. I said then why would you give them my money if you knew they were scaming people. She said because 1st. United hired Meracord to collect the money for 1st United. I have filled out as many complaint forms that I can find. I can’t afford a lawyer, if I had extra money I would put it to my payment that I am behind. I don’t even know what state 1st United is in, no address the phone is just a busy signal faxes don’t go through, emails are not answered. My emails that I got from them when I try to attach them to any of these complaint letters they are just blank nothing shows up. The form Lee Arthur emailed me when I printed it out you need a magnifying glass to read it and it is still hard. And it wont let me download or print it again even though I saved the stuff. It is just strange how it is a one shot only on the download and printing of the emails from Lee Arthur that one and only day.
