My goodness, what a horrible situation. I am such a fan of Steve and how he seems to always be able to better the lives of others by his kind words. So this will be another case of success, I'm sure. This was an excellent read because of the great advice given. Thanks for sharing and good luck Rosie! http://www.ssrights.com

Rosie-I worked as a social worker in health care for over 20 years and helped direct people like yourself regarding applying for Social Security Disability for mental health diagnosis. My advice is to locate a local community mental health center and ask if they evaluate for Social Security Disability applicants. You need to get a fresh diagnosis of Panic Disorder and re-apply. If turned down, appeal it. If you can't find a local mental health center that will see you at no cost, then phone in the application to SSD on their 800 number and they will do a screening on the phone, send you the forms to sign, and set you up for an evaluation with one of their psychiatrists. Don't give up on applying. I've seen many go through the first time and get the benefit. Also, you should apply for Medicaid if you the the SSD and in 2 years on the SSD you will qualify for Medicare, no matter your age. God Bless from an unemployed clinical social worker.
