Flagstar Bank – Consumer Complaint – November 16, 2012

Consumer Statement:

I am the victim of a bait and switch hustle mortgage loan. None of the governmental or private agencies will help, its outside their scope. Modification is the only recourse professed. I pay my mortgage, but due to the severe impound escrow shortage “discovered” six months after closing, this enormous increase was not in my budget. So I now have late fees and threats of default. If my mortgage payment had remained what I was told it would be, there would not be a problem that continues 4 years later. I cannot afford an attorney, and legal aid for my issue is not available.

Consumer Action Taken:

Contacted the servicer many times. I have written proof acknowledging they know it occured during origination. Contacted the lender/investor who referred me back to the servicer. I feel like a dog chasing its tail. Contacted every governmental agency under the sun. Politicians, media, different consumer rights advocates. I could write a book regarding the substantiated lack of homeowner assistance that fall outside the box. Modification is not a one size fits all.
