“Dear Steve,
Married has 3 children and a husband who has a cancer.I’m the only one working and my husband’s SSS was freeze for overpayment ,that made it harder for our finances . I used credit card for most of our bills for payment and now waiting for my bank ( Bank of America ) to process my refinance for my mortgage.I am not allowed to be late for my monthly payment or else they will stop the processing of my refi.I am looking for a lending company to help me pay my mortgage for at least 2 mos and consolidate my credit cards payment.
How are you going to help me ? Need your advise and help to solve my misery.
Anna”

The Answer
Dear Anna,
Boy, talk about a multitude of swirling issues!
We have the refinance, loss of income, medical debt, and SS overpayment.
It seems that you’ve sealed your path by saying that you can’t do anything till the refi goes through. That appears to be your top priority at the moment so everything else would be on hold till that is resolved.
But the more important question here is if you can afford your new mortgage payment and everything else once they finish the refinancing. If you can’t then it’s a moot point.
How much longer is the social security freeze going to be in place? Will you be able to afford all of your bills after the refinancing? What is the plan to deal with the loss of income?
When it comes to debt consolidation loans I generally suggest LendingClub.com. If you decide to go that route, let me know and if they approve you I’ll help to fund your loan.
I hope your husband is recovering swiftly from his battle with cancer.
