A debt management plan is a consolidated debt repayment plan that may stop or eliminate debt collection calls, reduce your monthly payments and/or reduce the interest rate you are paying.

But you need to understand the impact of a credit counseling program on your future savings.

Credit counselors are paid by creditors for collecting money from you. They do not negotiate on your behalf but instead pass on special terms to you when you enroll. You may be able to get the same or better terms by contacting your creditors directly. You should not hesitate in contacting your creditors and asking about their internal hardship programs.

When you enter and submit your information you will be be contacted by Cambridge Credit Counseling who will review your situation and discuss if credit counseling may be a benefit to you in your situation.

There is no need to obligate yourself to anything. If you don’t think the credit counseling solution sounds like the path you want to follow after you learn about it, don’t do it.
