Debt Reduction Department Mailer Promises Underwriting and Approval

I have a mailer in from of me that was sent from an entity who describes themselves with an extremely generic name, Debt Reduction Department.

An amazing reader Kiwi101 send in a new debt relief mailer through my I Buy Junk Mail program.

The mailer says the company is located at:
Debt Reduction Department
PO Box 4668 #66587
New York, NY 10163-4668

That address happens to be a mailing address for Earth Class Mail and there is no way to identify where the company is located since incoming mail to Earth Class Mail is scanned and delivered anywhere in the world. – Source

The outside of the envelope says it was mailed from Santa Ana, California with postal permit 507.

The inside of the mailer is signed by a Judy Pratt and provides seemingly no identifying information about who is behind the mailer.

It appears the company is saying they can reduce the debt by 50% and has a “pre-approved” payment of $750 a month all set up. But pre-approved by whom?

The domain name mentioned in the letter has a hidden ownership record.

if you visit the domain name given it says the company is U.S. Consumer Debt Relief Initiative.

The next screen says the company is “one of the leading Credit Card Advocacy groups in the United States,” but apparently still can’t identify who they are.

I received the same letter. The total amount of debt that I owe is correct. I am concerned how they would know that information. I have no intentions on ever contacting the 1-877 number because then they would have my phone number as well from caller ID.

I received a letter Signed by a Judy Pratt for a “Student Loan Assistance Center” promising a Student Loan Forgiveness ProgramConsolidation Offer, The Envelope looks the same except it has a “Deliver Directly to Addressee, SEE TITLE 18 SEC. 1702 -US CODE” on it, but it was delivered to my mail box, not me…it also has an interesting Disclaimer & Disclosure that caught my eye…”SLA is not affiliated with any government agency and programs are not endorsed by any government agency. We have many successes but cannot guarantee, warranty or predict the outcome in any particular situation. Results may vary. SLA does not assume or pay consumer debts, and we do not provide tax advice. Read and Understand all contract terms prior to enrollment.” Also, it says that it was mailed on August 9, 2013 and I had to call by August 24, 2013, but I didn’t receive it until this weekend…

7_23_2013 – My wife received this same as above with slight modifications. The envelope was exactly the same so the postal presort permit is the same, Santa Ana, CA Permit #507. Sending you the pdf with the “new” U.S. Government eagle at upper left. This is mail fraud. Will send to USPO. Keep up the good work.
