Morgan Drexen Integrated Legal System – Consumer Complaint – July 3, 2013

Consumer Statement:

I was initially contacted by Kris Waynes, who handled my file, but whenever I called to discuss my file someone else answered and refused to put me through to Kris Waynes. I was told not to pay any creditors and forward all correspondence and calls to MDILS. Consequently, My credit score suffered while I was being told the money I was sending each month was going into trust to pay off settlement amounts with my creditors. I feel scammed because of the information that they withheld such as by paying off creditors that had large balances, I was still responsible for the taxes on the differences in the amount owed and the settlement amount. The law firm name changed constantly which raised suspicion. Money was withdrawn from my account without my authorization and after I was told I had satisfied the completion of the program. One of my creditors has not been paid even though the amount quoted to me included payment to this particular creditor.

Consumer Action Taken:

My attempt to resolve the problems with Morgan Drexen was to completely sever all ties. I contacted them to find out how much I owed to get out of the program altogether and was given a quote which I faithfully obtained a loan to pay them off. They still called me to demand additional payments even after I explained to them that I had already paid the amount that they said I owed. They became unreasonable so I became adamant in my declaration that I was no longer going to send them any payments of any kind so please stop calling me.

unfortunately the model of debt settlement attorney’s like Morgan Drexen (though I believe Morgan Drexen is not an attorney), is to send your creditors form dispute letters on your behalf and put you in adversely situation. Morgan Drexen should have been clear, the “quote” you referred to is just an estimate, based on their ability to persuade your creditors to accept less then what is owed. In the mean time your balances continue to get interest added, fee’s are owed to Morgan Drexen and your credit report suffers until your bills get paid. Best of luck on getting your money back
