I applied for 1 payday loan and didn’t get it so didn’t apply for anymore. Yesterday I went to the bank as my JSA was in and Merrywood had removed £69.95 on my debit card at 5 am in the morning…ensuring that they would get to my money before I did. I at no point recall ever authorising such a payment…why would I when I receive only about this amount each wek anyway whilst I am looking for work?
Consumer Action Taken:
I went onto their website and filled in an email contact form that wouldn.t send. I also tried to click on the “my account” button but this also doesn’t work. They have no e mail address on their website so that I was able to send an e mail from my e mail account either. I called the telephone number on the website many times to never have it picked up. I looked online to see that many people have complained. I immedaitely went back to my bank who put me through to the Retail Disputes Dept… I now have to wait for this payment to come out and to keep contacting Merrywood. Then my bank will investigate this for me.
