New Horizon Credit Counseling – Consumer Complaint – March 12, 2014

Consumer Statement:

Five years ago my husband and myself found ourselves in a great deal of debt. We contacted New Horizons and were set up with a monthly payment of $562.00. We made the first payment in August of 2010 and were still receiving collection calls. I contacted New Horizon regarding this situation and they stated the first months payment was a deposit fee, which would be given back once we completed the entire program and never had any late payments. Then in July of 2012 we received a letter from New Horizon stating they were transferring our membership agreement to Consolidated Credit Counseling. As of Feb 2014 we have paid our debt in full. Consolidated Credit Counseling knows nothing of this “deposit,” and we were told to get in touch with New Horizon. For the past 3 weeks I have left messages and no one will call us back. My next resource is to report them to the Better Business Bureau. We completed the program successfully with NO payments and our deposit should be returned. No one ever answers their phones we also get a voicemail that is never returned. It’s unbelievable. They are truly disgusting liars.

Consumer Action Taken:

I have attempted to call every week for the past 3 weeks, but I never get a human response. I always get a voicemail, which no one has ever responded too. I am done calling. This weekend I am going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
