Zumrud Quliyeva is a 38-year-old woman who raises calves in the small village of Agsu in Azerbaijan. She is married and has five children! Zumrud is a housewife and her business is the only source of income in her family. She got into this business when she was very young, and thanks to know-how that her parents shared with her, she is very experienced in her business. Financial limits don’t allow her to expand her business enough. Now she has applied for 1500 USD as a loan to purchase three calves and fodder.
The reason I give money to Kiva to help people all over the world in disadvantaged places is so we can give someone an opportunity to start a small business so they can care for their family and become self-sufficient.
