George,

You have every right to be pissed off. I would suggest that for legal advice that you consult with an attorney licensed in your state.

I was recently made aware of allegro laws legal trouble. I am a client for 3 months and have seen no results except my escrow going from the $3000 I paid them down to $300 after there fees. If i wanted to sue them to recover the money I paid them and the thousands of dollars in late fees and finance charges from my credit card companies what type of lawyer is that? Can you recommend any? Thanks

The bad thing about this is that it is intended in shutting down an industry rather than repair it so consumer can user debt settlement as a tool. This will only be the beginning of actions against debt settlement companies. As I've said before, lump-sum debt settlements are a good tool but I'm not a fan of the monthly payment approach.

This just confirms what I have thought about debt relief companies. Some may actually be legitimate/honest companies, but I've yet to hear of a success story from any consumer. I wonder how long the investigation will take.
