I once tried to enlist the help of many debt consolidator programs. Honestly, no one advised me the money I will pay them(advance) will go pay directly my 3 credit cards. All of these debt consolidators told me they have to keep my money for about 3 months, only then they will pay the credit card companies. Upfont, they are expensive, a minimum of about $1,500.00 to be debited to your checking account as soon as you signed their contract. I decided to call each of these credit card companies myself, lo and behold, I got approved, I now pay the CC companies directly with ZERO interest for 5 years. I got enrolled in their own debt management program. You just have to be honest, tell them the truth about your financial hardships. Yes, they will listen, of course, this is not a quick fix. They also debited my checking account, but I know it goes directly to the principal amount. If I pay extra, I'm debt free in less than 3 years. Good luck to you.
