I've seen several questions on your website about people getting sued by a credit card company after they signed up with a debt settlement program. It's hard for me to figure this out since I'm dealing with a law firm and not with the credit card company. I did speak with a bankruptcy attorney last year, and they work out the same sort of repayment plan as MMI does. I can make the MMI payments. I just don't want AmEx to haul out the big guns if I walk away from dealing with the collections law firm they hired. I don't think I'm going to get an honest answer from the law firm, because of course they want to solve the situation for their own benefit.
