Buying a Snuggie or Something From an Infomercial Can Get Your Credit Card Cancelled.

Ask me your question.

With banks hunting with a vengeance for any available reason to raise interest rates or snap back a credit card from a customer that might cause them a loss, the data mining of what and where you buy is becoming a critical key to watch.

The behavior of purchasers can indicate that a cardholder may be headed for a default. Purchases in a bar, a marriage counselor and a bargain store may be an indication that your life is headed down the toilet and you will become a higher risk. Purchases on late night television may reflect a need to mindlessly shop for crap you don’t need. Or, all of these purchases could be totally innocent and have a valid explanation and be made by someone without any potential money trouble at all. Banks aren’t willing to take that risk. Today, you will be guilty until proven innocent and your sentence will be getting your credit limit slashed or having your card cancelled altogether.

Before you get all incensed and pissed off, just remember that having a credit card is like playing football with your friends ball. When he wants to take the ball and go home, he can, ’cause it’s his ball.
