There is no such thing as "free" money to pay off a student loan. There are however programs for teachers and public service workers to discharged their government backed student loans after ten years.

You can still apply for loans for school through the government even if you have other student loan debt. As long as you don't go over the federal cap amount for undergraduate students you still can do it. Trust me, I am going through the same thing, and it took me a while to understand everything, but know I do.

Hello my name is Rhonda, single mom of two boys. I have recently went back to school with Strayer University online for a Associates Degree in Business Adminstration. I currently owe over 20,000.00 and still have more classes to take. I was wondering if there are any scholarship programs to earn while in school to help take some the burden off these loans for when I finish. What do you suggest? I am really starting to worry about the cost of the monthly payment after I finish. I can barely make it now. I had heard my payment could be as much as 300.00 a month, there is no way I can afford that. Do you think I should just quit now and stop occurring more debt?
