“Dear Steve,
I am an unemployed mother to be. I had taken out a bank loan when i had a job, and i lost my job a few months ago. I am now behind on the loan payments and i don’t know what to do. I also have the monthly utility bills due. and rent. Is there anyway to get like… a loan for unemployed people. Or any way i can just make cash fast. I’m desperate. I’m out of options. I know getting a job is an option, but it seems like no one is hiring. I just can’t find a job.
Please help me.
Thank you,
Amber”
Dear Amber,
There are two courses of action for you to take here. The first is to discharge your old debt with bankruptcy since there is no expectation you will be able to recover from this and the second is to get on every benefit program you can, including for coupons, Medicaid, and unemployment income. See this post for helpful links to benefits.
There is no loan available for unemployed people.
You can also turn to friends, family or your religious organization for assistance.
Please update me on your progress by posting updates here in the comments section of your question. I’m very interested in how this works out for you.
Big hug.
