Charlene
“Dear Steve,
My name is Charlene, and I currently sit wth a outstanding loan in the UAE. I am living in South Africa and am planning to immigrate to Canada wth my husband (Canadian) and our two children (dual citizens). My UAE Police Clearance was rejected because of two cases that have been opened due to my outstanding loan. One is a police station case, the other is a public prosecution case.
My current position is as follows:
I am going to be paying back the full amount to the Creditor, and will be receiving 2 confirmation letters, stating that the loan is payed off in full.
I will then need to send off these two confirmation letters, along with any other documents that will show that I am cleared of my debt. I know that this does not clear my case. So I am asking, what are the next steps that will guarantee that I do not have to step foot in Dubai to successfully clear these cases and get my police clearance for our move to Canada?
Our family is going through a nightmare right now, but we want it to be over as soon as possible. What are our options after the loan is paid in full????
What steps must I take in order to clear my case and receive a UAE police clearance if I pay my loan off in FULL?
Charlene”
The Answer:
Dear Charlene,
You need to locate and hire an attorney in Dubai to help you coordinate this so you can get the documents you need. The attorney can represent you so you do not have to go back to the UAE and take care of it.
