Question:
Dear Steve,
Is there away I can get my Mortgage debt relieved? I’m unemployed and six months behind on my mortgage and I would like to keep my house.
Laverne
Answer:
Dear Laverne,
Not really. Let’s say that you somehow managed to have the mortgage debt eliminated, that does not remove the lien against the property.
The only ways to totally remove a mortgage and lien would be to pay the mortgage off, or spend loads of money on lawyers to find a problem with your mortgage and then fight it in court. Of course there is always the obvious method of selling he home which will pay off the mortgage.
Basically I’m reaching for straws at this point since there is no likely program to eliminate your mortgage and lien and let you stay in the home.
Sincerely,
You are not alone. I'm here to help. There is no need to suffer in silence. We can get through this. Tomorrow can be better than today. Don't give up.
