By on October 19, 2016

Question:

Dear Steve,

I had world law as my debt attorney. Paid the 700.00 plus a month saw they were being sued they changed banks quit taking funds out paid for 1 1/2 years.

How do I get them to tell me which credit cards where paid off its been over 2 years a few dept collectors are sending letters again thanks

Brian

Answer:

Dear Brian,

World Law Debt Services was seized by the court after being found to be an illegal operation.

The court appointed receiver is Robb Evans & Associates. You can find out the latest updates from their website if you click here.

If you are unable to get the information you need from the Receiver then the best way to locate your creditors would be to look at a copy of your consolidated credit report. You can get a free copy of a two bureau credit report here from Credit Karma. Otherwise you can go to AnnualCreditReport.com and follow the process for getting a free copy from each of the three major credit bureaus.

Typically the way these things end is former clients get little money back and after left stranded when the illegal operation closes.

You can read the lawsuit that was filed against World law by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau if you click here.
