Damian Kutzner Keeps Putting Off His Criminal Sentencing for Mass Joinder Scam

By on May 9, 2017

Damian Kutzner is a name some may recognize having been the alleged mastermind behind the failed debt relief efforts of United Law Group, and Brookstone Law.

In 2014 Kutzner was charged with criminal activity for his role in United Law Group. The United States alleged Kutzner directed and controlled the activities of United Law Group and beginning in 2008 Kutzner and others “knowingly, and with the intent to defraud victim homeowners as to material matters, and to deprive victim homeowners of money and property by means of materially false and fraudulent pretenses, representations, and promises and the concealment of material facts.”

The criminal charges the United States filed surrounded the efforts and promise Kutzner and others made to help save homeowners with mass joinder lawsuits. Even after the filing of these criminal charges Kutzner continued to try and expand his business through his successive company, Brookstone Law Group.

In a previously sealed document, Kutzner appears to have changed his plea to guilty in 2014. – Source

Since that time, his sentencing has been postponed numerous times. The latest postponement has sentencing scheduled for August 4, 2017. – Source

But it appears sentencing has been postponed at least six times and I’m not holding my breath the court may finally send Kutzner to jail in August.

Steve…Damian Kutzner had his hearing for sentencing held yesterday in federal court. Once again it has been postponed until 2/23. Apparently the tragic and sudden death of his attorney William Kopeny (of Rodney King fame as well as others) then later the even more unexpected death the federal judge who has overseen his case since the beginning, the honorable Beverly Reid-O’Connor has served as catalyst to his continued freedom despite having plead guilty nearly 2 years ago. I was present in the courtroom. Thank you for your excellent journalism on covering this case. Keep it up Mr. Rhode. Do not give up yet, please. Things are just starting to get real interesting. A lot more investigation is required in this most complex criminal case where there is much more to it then meets the eye.
