GreenLink Financial Mailers Have Me Searching for Answers

I received two mailers from a reader as part of my I Buy Junk Mail program.

These mailers are from GreenLink Financial and a few minutes of some basic looking around got me even more curious.

The GreenLink Financial website looks like a personal loan site but I came across this perplexing statement on their terms page.

Definition of Terms Used: debt free: (i) relates solely to enrolled, unsecured debts, (ii) upon successful program completion, (iii) not all creditors will negotiate, not available in all states bankruptcy: anyone considering bankruptcy should contact a bankruptcy attorney

Why would they be talking about negotiating or settling debts? Odd.

The consumer who received this mailer live in Virginia. The company says they are GreenLink Financial LLC but the State of Virginia says GreenLink Financial LLC is not registered to do business.

The expired Virginia listing says they are a Nevada corporation. Nevada lists the managing member as Eric Heller of 16808 Armstrong Avenue, Suite #220, Irvine, CA. – Source

That also happens to be the address of United Advisors Group (UAG). – Source

Some of the comments on the Yelp page make reference to UAG assisting with debt issues.

The State of California does not have a business listing for GreenLink Financial.

On January 3rd of 2016 the website greenlinkfunding.com was reportedly owned by:

Registrant Name: Pinto Design
Registrant Organization: Pinto Design
Registrant Street: 16808 Armstrong Ave
Registrant Street: Suite 220
Registrant City: Irvine
Registrant State/Province: CA

The BBB reports a Hamilton Pinto, Jr as the Chief Technology Officer. – Source

And on March 31, 2015 is was reportedly owned by:

Registrant Name: HDG – Media
Registrant Organization: Hamilton Design Group
Registrant Street: 16808 Armstrong Ave
Registrant City: Irvine
Registrant State/Province: CA
Registrant Postal Code: 92606
Registrant Country: US
Registrant Phone: +1.9498614881
Registrant Phone Ext:
Registrant Fax: +1.8882228709
Registrant Fax Ext:
Registrant Email: webmaster@greenlinkfunding.com

Turning back to the State of Virginia, the State does not list a lender license for a GreenLink Financial. – Source

The mailer receive by the consumer came in this self mailer listing the 16808 Armstrong Ave address as their place of business.

The inside of the mailer was interesting in that it labeled a particular amount of debt the consumer allegedly owed but how would they know that since it is impermissible to pull reports for marketing purposes.

Now the language on the back of the fake check is interesting as well.

I sent a request to GreenLink Financial through their website a number of hours ago asking for clarification on the Virginia registration and other details. If I ever hear back from them I will update this post.

And one little interesting issue. One of the consumers on the BBB site posted this compliant on 3-28-2017:

“I ******* ******** did not had any business relation with Century Support Services parent company of GREN LINK FINANCIAL,”

Century Support Services says they are “Your Partner in Debt Settlement.” – Source

Could this really be a mailer to steer people into a debt settlement program?

If you’ve got any information to share, please post it in the comments below.

  1. Almost every big debt settlement company is now taking this approach. The send out mailers for a “loan” and will provide a loan for .001% of the clients and spin every other one to debt settlement. This needs to be stopped.
