Consumer Complaint: I have negative marks showing up on my credit report for a student loan that should NOT be, but rather a XXXX benefit that was apparently processed INCORRECTLY. When I applied for classes in approx. XXXX XXXX , I used my XXXX XXXX XXXX benefit to cover all costs, with 0 bal ance due. After later receiving some suspicious emails regarding a student loan due, I called the college several months ago to check my status, which they said is good, as I am now a XXXX XXXX preparing to use further benefits for my education. My prior attempts to get more information through the suspicious email were unsuccessful, so the college agreed it appeared to be scammers. I am wondering if I need to contact the XXXX human resources again, to check and see how this could happen. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!
