Consumer Complaint: I took out a private loan with XXXX XXXX / Navient in XXXX , it totaled to {$3900.00}. I attempted to arrange a payment arrangement with them, as I have a federal loan that now totals XXXX . They would not work with me unless I paid them the money they requested, I remember trying to make a {$50.00} payment because that was all I had and they would n’t accept it. I could not make large payments to them and pay for my federal loans. It ultimately went into collections. It appeared that I would have better luck with them, although they told me the amount was around {$6300.00}, which was far more then the initial amount. They asked for a lump sum amount to bring it current. I was willing to do that at the time, I made two payments of {$500.00} ( XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX ). Which I thought brought the balance down to {$5300.00}. I have been making payments towards this debt since XXXX . In total I have paid {$1800.00} towards this debt ( {$1900.00} on XX/XX/XXXX its automatic withdraw ). I have been trying to improve my credit score , so I recently ran my credit score and saw that the debt was not as low as I thought it was. When I realized this I contacted the agency, only to find the debt had been given to another company. I was never notified or contacted about the changes and they are claiming I owe {$6000.00}. They told me I needed to contact Navient about the debt being on my credit report and the amount that the loan was. I called Navient and they told me that I need to contact the credit collections agency.
