I contacted the collection agency and requested that they validate the debt and provide me with proof of the debt. In response they provided me with an itemized medical bill showing medical procedures, diagnosis and summary charges. This is a violation of the HIPAA law as the collection agency should not have access to this information. I am happy to provide this information upon request.
