Consumer Complaint: After paying off a past debt directly to XXXX XXXX XXXX , I received multiple letters from Convergent date d XXXX – XXXX -2017. The first letter is a standard attempt to collect debt, dated , XXXX – XXXX -2017, this letter was received on XXXX – XXXX -2017 and was the first instance. The next day, I received letter from the same company dated the SAME day, X – XX -2017 stating, ” Based on recent phone with our AGENT, we understand YOU may have a dispute regarding an account with our CLIENT. ” It is reasonable at this point based on their own provided letters, Convergent a cknowledges an issue exists in the validity of this debt the same day. As of XXXX XXXX , 2017, my credit monitoring has indicated that this company has placed this debt to all XXXX credit bureau ‘s even though XXXX XXXX confirms notifying Convergent on or before the mailing date of these multiple letters. This has caused nearly a XXXX point drop in my credit rating which has caused severe financial detriment to a pending financial matter. We have talked with XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXXXX on XXXX – XXXX -201 7 who assured us Convergent is completely in ERROR and should NOT for any reason be pursuing this debt. Please note this debt was PAID OFF prior to the original dating of these letters from Convergent. As well, this is causing SIGNIFICANT FINANCIAL impact and Convergent should act swift ly to resolve this immediately.
