Consumer Complaint: Before I went to XXXX school, Navient kept enc ouraging me to put my private student loans on forbearance. My monthly minimum payments has now increased to over {$400.00} ( four hundred ) d ollars per month. I have tried to make {$100.00} to $ 150 monthly payments, but Navient co ntinues to send my name to collections for late payments. I have had several conversations with customer service and they are not willing to accommodate my financial situation – my XXXX student loans are {$280.00} per month ; my federal student loans are about {$220.00} per month ; my rent is {$1900.00} per month … I am a XXXX XXXX in Massachusetts and only bring home about {$1300.00} every two weeks ( {$47000.00} yearly salary ). I have told Navient that I am already struggling to find more affordable housing in XXXX and keeping up with my other bills and living expenses. I would not want to end up homeless because Navient do es not want to accommodate my current financial hardship. I have repeatedl y told Navient that I can make $ 150 monthly payments towards my loans, b ut Navient cont inues to encourage me to make that payment on one account and place the other loans on forbearance.
