Consumer Complaint: I graduated from college in XXXX with a starting balance of $ XXXX -it is n ow XXXX and the current balance is XXXX XXXX . I have requested the original information on this loan and was not provided with that or payments since XXXX . I was sent information from XXXX on. This information was sent from XXXX -which is a nightmare to deal with. They tried telling me I needed a reason for asking for the payment information and then sent me someone else ‘s loan information! From what I can tell with the information I have received the interest rate ranges from 5 % -5.3 %? I know there was a time I did not pay and was in deferment, but I am guessing no longer than maybe 6 months? I have paid on average {$190.00} a month ( I think even more when I first began payments on the loan ) so according to the figures I receive I will have paid almost double of what the original balance was! I sent in application for Public Loan Forgiveness s o now my loans are through myfedloan servicing. According to them I do not qualify for the forgiveness and I have sent them an email asking for some explanation on these numbers and I have not received any response. I would like some help/questions answered as to how this is fair and possible that this loan will not be paid off until XXXX . It is really mind blowing if this is correct and how student loans are done.
