Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX , 2017 I w as charged a ” Repayment Fee ” of {$960.00}. I inquired about what this fee means, but I was not given an answer. Instead, the customer service representative informed me that they could not find my account. I replied, asking again what the fee meant, which does not require my account information, despite the fact that I attached a screenshot of my statement in the original email. I was just being given the run-around by a company using a bait and switch tactic to not answer my question. If the repayment fee is a fee for repaying the loan early or paying more than the minimum amount, then I was misled. Navient ‘s ‘Common Questions ‘ section of their website explicitly states, ” Can I pay more than my monthly payment amount? — You can always pay more than your monthly payment amount. By paying more now, you ‘ll pay less over the life of the loan. ” Is there another reason I was charged a ” repayment fee ”? Is n’t the interest on the capital the repayment fee? At the very least I would like an answer, but I ca n’t seem to find find a relevant FAQ to reference, and the email I exchange I had with XXXX XXXX XXXX never addressed my question. Since my last reply 4 days ago, I have not received a response.
