Consumer Complaint: It was my first student consolidation of my federal loans with navient. I was told by loan representative that because I was i n XXXX I w ou ld get a forgiveness on some of my loan and because of my low income I would get a reduced fee on payments. He said do n’t change anything at all when I send you those documents for your consolidation he said he had everything inputted on the application thst would allow me for the forgiveness and reduced rates of repayment … so I did n’t, I looked over the papers and signed and mailed in. I then received my loan papers and it had me at a high % repayment I owed XXXX but with loan over and done with it would be well over 150,000, I then seen that my monthly payments a month were 800 some dollars. I was better not going to navient and repaying each loan individually at a lower payment monthly then what I got before. I tried calling the guy after recieving what I quickly learned was an enormous lie from the rep at navient and I got nowhere, I was told there were no notes and nothing was told to me from navient of the sorts of discount monthly payment due to income and forgiveness on some of my loans for being in health care. I am more than willing to filter through all of my papers for the navient ones, I wrote everything down including the man who helped a his phone number and the enormous lies he claimed to me.
