Consumer Complaint: On Friday, XXXX XXXX , 2017 , at approximately XXXX , Navient extorted money from me in order to process a forbearance. XXXX XXXX XXXX , a supervisor with Navient ‘s collection department, stated that if the fee was not paid that the loan would default at close of buisness on XXXX XXXX , 2017 , and, if that happened the loan would be turned over to a law firm for collections. I explained that I could n’t afford the fee at this time and I was told my only option was to pay or default. I was forced to pay this fee by threat of future litigation and the embarrassment that comes with that ordeal.
