Consumer Complaint: On Wednesday, XXXX XXXX at approximately XXXX , I received a phone call from a gentleman claiming to be from XXXX XXXX XXXX stating that they had a summons that they needed to serve me for a lawsuit and asking the best way to reach me at my job. I explained that I was not aware of any pending lawsuit and that if I am to be served the police would know that process. He then explained that he could give me the information from the attorney for the plaintiff and I could contact them to possible place a hold on being served at my workplace and the embarrassment that would come f rom that. He stated that this ” servicing ” was to go out soon so they would only be able to hold it for 24 h ours while I contacted the company. I took the information for a Richard J. Boudreau & Assoicates, LLC., a p hone number of XXXX and a case number of XXXX . I contacted this law firm and spoke with a XXXX XXXX . He stated that there was a case brought against me for breach of contract and check fraud and another claim i can not recall from their client. I asked who the client was that I owed money to. He stated that the original creditor is a company called ” XXXX XXXX XXXX ” and I entered into contract with them in XXXX of 2014 . I stated that I didnt recall and asked for additional information in regards to this case and asked if this XXXX XXXX XXXX company was their client. He stated he didnt have any additional information but that I could contact them and he would tell their legal department to place a hold on my case fo r 24 hours. The following day, they contacted on my work phone and spoke with an associate of mine and told her that myself or my attorney needs to return their call. I returned the call, asking for XXXX XXXX and let him know I would be recording our phone call. At that point, I asked if I could receive the spelling of his firm and address. He then became extremely aggressive and began yelling at me refusing to answer any of my questions. This went on for a while until he hung up on me. I again called and asked for the address and correct spelling of this firm. Again, he became angry and aggressive and yelled at me. I looked through my personal voicemail log and heard a number of messages where this company never informed me that they were attempting to collect a debt but that they had a legal matter they needed to discuss with me. I want them to stop contacting me at my workplace and provide the proof of debt and information I requested.
